I’ve had the opportunity to test all the new Stack flavours over a period.

My final thoughts for all these 3 stacks is that they are not close to production status yet.

OpenStack is too huge. Documentation is not updated as often as the packages.
Cloudstack is more or less in same condition but the installation is more simple thanks to having less packages.
Citrix is also trying, but to be honest. Its the same as those 2 above. Documentation is bad. Its not ready for production farms.

Overall, I like the idea of competition. But someone should really just paus everything.. examine the results and go from there. Things are evolving too quickly. I believe that could endanger the whole idea of running Stacks.

Cloud future needs to have focus on not just seamless – serverless thinking, but also operations standard and maybe ITIL thinking.
